When do kids start going to the dentist?

Dr. Jason Keledjian and our team at Keledjian Dental see kids within six months of their first tooth emerging or by their first birthday. This may seem early to some, but you’re never too young to get a head start on your smile! The American Dental Association even states that children should first see the dentist during this time period.

A child’s first dental visit may last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. This depends on the child’s age and what they need. A routine dental visit may include an exam of their teeth, gums, jaws, oral tissues, and bite so we can monitor their growth and development.

We know some kids may be afraid of going somewhere unfamiliar or meeting someone new, but our entire team always strives to make our patients feel comfortable and at ease in our care––no matter their age! We love treating children and seeing their tiny smiles grow over the years.
