Even though it is still July, the end of summer is fast approaching and we still have some appointments available to see your kids before they head back to school. Whether they need their regular hygiene appointment or they have some outstanding treatment that we need to complete, we will do our best to accommodate your needs before the busy school year starts.
Even if all is well with your child, you may wish to consider some of the following preventative treatments:
Protective Dental Sealants
Dental sealants help protect teeth from decay. They are especially useful for children with deep grooves in their teeth or who indulge in sugary snacks on a regular basis. They are clear plastic coatings that cover the grooves in the molars to keep food particles that could cause decay out of your child’s teeth. They can last up to five years.
Regular Fluoride Treatments
Having regular fluoride treatments can reduce the risk of decay because fluoride strengthens tooth enamel. While many communities have their water treated with fluoride, sometimes the amounts are insufficient to provide protection. An additional treatment can decrease your little one’s chances of tooth decay.
Early Orthodontic Evaluation
As children grow, their bones change and that can have an effect on their bite and how their teeth come together. Since orthodontics is sometimes a lengthy process, addressing certain conditions early allows us to intervene while your child is still growing. Early intervention can even cut down on treatment time and expense later.
Protect your child as they start fall sports with a protective mouthguard. At Keledjian Dental, we create custom mouthguards to ensure the best fit and comfort during use. We can make a variety of colors so your sports star can show their team spirit with school colors or just something fun that will encourage compliance.
