Tooth Extractions in Madera, CA
Despite our best efforts to save every tooth, sometimes it may be necessary for a dental extraction. Whether it is from trauma caused by an accident or because of a cracked or split tooth that is beyond repair, at Keledjian Dental we can perform many types of extractions in our Madera dental office.
Tooth Extractions and Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Some common reasons for dental extractions and having teeth pulled include:
• A cracked tooth
• A split tooth
• Severe tooth infection pain
• Orthodontic treatment after wisdom teeth extractions
• A tooth growing in the wrong place
• A tooth broken at the gum line
Many times patients come to us because they are experiencing significant pain in a tooth. This can be due to a severe periodontal infection or because the tooth itself is infected. In some cases a simple tooth extraction procedure solves the problem. While we try to save each tooth with procedures such as root canals, fillings, and periodontal treatment, it is not always possible. If it becomes necessary for us to extract your tooth, Dr. Jason Keledjian will offer you several tooth replacement options.
Surgical Tooth Extraction
Even though we try to provide most services to our patients right in our Madera office, if multiple tooth extractions or surgical care is required, we may refer you to one of our trusted oral surgeons to complete the extraction. Having a tooth pulled is not always a simple procedure. Rest assured that having teeth pulled by the doctors we work with will give you excellent care levels.
When you come in for an extraction, we will make sure you are completely comfortable. Once your procedure is complete, you will be given specific instructions on how to care for the site of your extracted tooth. Depending on your situation, Dr. Keledjian may prescribe additional medication to assist in healing. You may also be required to refrain from certain behaviors such as drinking through a straw and smoking until you heal completely.
We will follow up with you regularly to ensure you are healing properly and that you stay comfortable as your body's natural healing process takes over.
