Do you offer in-house orthodontic treatment plans?
At Keledjian Dental we know there are many choices when it comes to orthodontics. Because we spend the extra time to get to know our patients and their dental health, we are able to customize a plan that will provide each patient with their desired outcome.
At our dental office, orthodontic procedures are convenient. Because we are a general practice and we also offer orthodontics, our patients find it very simple to have both orthodontic treatment and general dentistry treatment in the same dental practice location. This streamlined approach also helps eliminate miscommunication between multiple offices and providers. We treat adults and teenagers, and we also offer pediatric orthodontic services for children. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer comprehensive care to your entire family.
What alternatives do I have if I don’t want traditional braces?
Traditional braces provide a reliable and effective method to treat misaligned teeth. Traditional metal braces consist of wires and brackets that are adhered to your teeth. These brackets are adjusted regularly to slowly straighten your smile. Over time, the desired outcome is achieved.
A bracket is attached to each tooth with a bonding agent. A wire is then attached to the brackets with bands and is used to move the teeth slowly over time until the desired position is achieved. Once your teeth have been moved, custom retainers will be made that should be worn at night while you sleep to keep your teeth in place.
Traditional braces are a classic treatment option that can be used on patients of nearly any age. For many patients, however, having brackets on their teeth is not appealing. That is why we offer Invisalign to our age-appropriate patients. If you are an adult or teenager who does not want traditional braces, Invisalign may be the perfect alternative for you.
Invisalign utilizes a series of clear aligners that are worn for a period of about two weeks each. The aligners are used to gradually move your teeth, much like brackets do. The biggest benefit of Invisalign is arguably the clear plastic aligners that are discreet and nearly-invisible. Additionally, Invisalign aligners are removable for cleaning and eating.
Overall, Invisalign is a more flexible treatment option that many of our adult patients prefer.
What are bonded retainers?
Bonded retainers, otherwise known as permanent retainers, are thin pieces of wire that are permanently attached to the back of the front teeth. Bonded retainers make sure teeth stay in place and do not move around after orthodontic treatment. Because bonded retainers are permanently bonded to the teeth, it eliminates the temptation to remove or not wear retainers as often as you should.
At Keledjian Dental, we may utilize bonded retainers after orthodontic treatment to hold your teeth in place. In some cases, bonded retainers are a highly beneficial part of treatment. Once we complete your orthodontic evaluation, we will be able to discuss the best retainers after braces treatment. Regardless of the type of retainer used, all orthodontic retainers help stabilize and support teeth reliably.
Some of my teeth are already straight, so will I still need a full mouth of braces?
At our Madera, CA dental practice, we believe in personalizing our dental care for every single one of our patients.
Your smile is unique, and you may not need the same orthodontic treatment as someone else. For example, your top teeth may be naturally straight while your bottom teeth are crowded and misaligned.
In cases like this, we can absolutely customize orthodontic treatment! Some patients only need braces on one row or section of their teeth. Some patients need braces for only nine or twelve months, while others need braces for years. Other patients have the budget to treat some but not all of their teeth, so they choose to focus on the most severe area first.
Whatever your unique circumstances, we can work with you. You may not require a full mouth of braces at all! The best way for us to evaluate your smile is for you to meet with Dr. Jason Keledijian at our Madera dental office. During this dental appointment, Dr. Keledijian can determine how to best proceed and what the best treatment for you looks like. If you have questions about what type of orthodontic treatment you may need, give us a call!
Will my insurance cover my orthodontic treatment?
It is possible that your insurance plan may cover a portion of your orthodontic treatment. Many major insurance companies will agree to cover a portion of the cost of either traditional braces or Invisalign for children and adults.
If you have questions about what your dental insurance covers and you are unable to speak with your insurance company directly, you are always welcome to reach out to our front office staff. We will do our best to research your insurance plan and provide you with the answers you are looking for.
Our dental office also accepts Visa, Mastercard, cash, and CareCredit as acceptable forms of payment.
