Orthodontics in Madera, CA
Straight teeth are not only attractive, but also promote good dental health. A misaligned bite can cause numerous dental problems. Occlusion, or how your teeth come together, is important for the health of your teeth and jaws.
When teeth are misaligned they can cause problems such as:
• Speech impediments
• Trouble chewing
• TMJ disorders
• Gum disease
• Tooth decay
• Sleep apnea
• Grinding and clenching teeth
Of course, orthodontics can help to improve the aesthetics of your smile, as well. Dr. Jason Keledjian is happy to discuss all of the ways you can benefit from orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontic Treatment Plans
At Keledjian Dental we know there are many choices when it comes to orthodontics. Because we spend the extra time to get to know our patients and their dental health, we are able to customize a plan that will provide each patient with their desired outcome.
At our office, orthodontic procedures are convenient. Because we are a general practice and we also offer orthodontics, our patients find it very convenient to have both orthodontic treatment and general dentistry treatment in the same office. We treat adults as well as offer pediatric orthodontist services children offering comprehensive care to your entire family.
Traditional Orthodontics Information
Traditional orthodontics provides a reliable and effective method to treat misaligned teeth. Traditional orthodontics consists of wires and brackets along with regular adjustments to achieve your desired outcome.
A bracket is attached to each tooth with a bonding agent. A wire is attached to the brackets with bands and is used to move the teeth slowly over time until the desired position is achieved. Once your teeth have been moved, custom retainers will be made that should be worn for a specified period of time to keep your teeth in place.
The Invisalign Alternative
For many patients, having brackets on their teeth is not appealing. That is why we offer Invisalign to our patients. Invisalign utilizes a series of clear aligners that are worn for a period of about two weeks each. The aligners are used to gradually move your teeth, much like brackets do.
Benefits of Invisalign include the use of the clear plastic aligners. Additionally, Invisalign aligners are removable for cleaning and eating. Many of our adult patients prefer it due to the flexibility it offers.
At Keledjian Dental, we may utilize bonded retainers after orthodontic treatment to hold your teeth in place. In some cases, bonded retainers are a highly beneficial part of treatment. Once we complete your orthodontic evaluation, we will be able to discuss the best retainers after braces treatment. Orthodontic retainers help stabalize and support teeth reliably.
